1st FLL Philippines a FUN Robo Success
FIRST LEGO
Leagues is an international program for children, created in partnership
between FIRST Foundation and The LEGO Group in 1998. FLL introduces children to
the fun and experience of solving real-world problems by applying math,
science, and technology. Each year, more
than 200,000 children ages 9-16 years old from fifty-five (55) countries
participate.
FLL
Philippines was held at the Quezon City Interactive Science Center (QCISC) with
fifteen (15) pioneer schools consisting of 10 students/team from as far as Cebu
and Bicol or a total of 150 students .
This year
2012, the theme is “FOOD FACTOR” Keeping Food Safe. With the FLL Food Factor
challenge, teams will explore the topic of food safety and examine the possible
points of contamination our food encounters-from exposure to insects and
creatures, to unsterile processing and transportation, to unsanitary
preparation and storage-then find ways to prevent or combat these contaminants.
The winner
of the Champion’s award is DYCI Blue Ocean 10 from Dr. Yangas Colleges Inc. and
will represent the Philippines to the FLL World Festival to be held in St.
Louis, MO, USA on April 24-30,2012 .
